After Birth

This tapestry of vibrant, abstract colors and patterns is dominated by hues of red, orange, blue and yellow and exudes a dynamic energy. The composition features organic lines and shapes that merge to form intricate designs.
At the center of the piece is a blue, reflective circle from which four lines drop down to a basket, revealing a stylized hot air balloon from which an eye peers, as if traveling through the composition.
Leaf-like structures, animal figures, the suggestion of water and a woman all add to a hallucinatory sense of time.
The painting and its title, After Birth, represent a shift in perspective or perception of reality that often happens after an epiphany, an illness or journey, or an emotional/spiritual/physical ordeal.
